Straight Gangsta.

I always thought these were really nasty animals, which they are. But in a way they are pretty dam cool. I forgot that Hyena's are actually more linked to being like wild dogs. Actually they are more closely related to mongooses and Meerkats.
There are 4 types of Hyena's. This one in the picture is a spotted Hyena, by far the coolest looking one.
Did you know the word Hyena is derived from the Greek word hyaina, meaning "pig"?
I would assume this because Hyena's are looked down apon. They mainly scavenge dead graves and carcasses for food. Their whole body is made for this because they can devour and digest every part of an animal. Unlike Cheetah's, Lions and other meat eaters of the Sahara. The Feline species at least has the decency to kill there prey by going for the throat. Hyena's on the other hand have no problem attacking in a pack and eating a wilder beast alive. Terrible way to die.


I can totally see myself walking this beast down the street.

 

One day I will have my very own Hyena pup to raise.
